Topic of prejudice many conversations and points can stem from it. Before watching the video the English modulate states that professor Bloom believes "that prejudice is normal and can actually be beneficial" which I never thought of until now. Up until that statement, I always associated prejudice with a negative connotation especially since I am an African American young woman I have always kept an eye out for the preconceived stereotypes people may have about the culture and ethnicities I associate with. But to think that prejudice could be something that we are all born with and possibly beneficial to our existence has never settled and processed in my thoughts. Videos for week 10 - Human Relationships

 The human need to be social creatures is something that I think is built into our DNA and the basics of survival. I believe this is due to most aspects that make a human, human, are the continuous and different relationships that come with interactions- people are a combination of everyone they've ever met. Along with humans being social creatures, bring isolation into the topic and there are no other people to learn and grow from resulting in the expected results of anxiety and depression.  When watching the videos I was only able to watch one due to an upload issue but the video I did watch informed me I would think just as well. The video was "Evolution explains kindness-even when it kills us" by Paul Bloom which discussed Darwinianism and the kindness of strangers. Group Three Links - the music industry

 For group three of the presentations, they covered the topic of the music industry. The music industry is something I feel like I could easily inform someone about as I have paid attention to the rise and downfall of stars over the years and know who and what is currently it. As for the behind-the-scenes of the music industry such as the entourages that keep the star put together and managers and contracts that could change anything at any given moment. Another fact I can say about the music industry is that it's dying. By dying I mean there is no true and pure talent anymore that leads to the rise of stardom as there are now hundreds of other people who can do the same. A way this has increased is definitely through social media as people can now find talent from the comfort of their toilet if wanted.  I wasn't able to make it to their presentation, but I do have access to their readings which help give more insight. Videos for week 9 - Why do we choose to suffer?

Based on the response question alone I'm not sure why we choose to suffer. I personally think it's due to all the positive benefits and outcomes all having the path of having to do hardships and difficult tasks that end up having a reward at the end. Thus, people choose to suffer because there seems to be a common theme of no more suffering when done. A saying that helps picture this better is the saying how "beauty is pain" among most women when doing beautification as the pain behind the process of getting ready is ok because one will be gorgeous in the end. People do this all the time, especially with weight loss or anything that requires necessary discipline. Why do we choose to do it? Videos for week 8 - Prison: Compassion Trauma Circle

 My preconception of inmates depends and is relative to each inmate's situation. Due to each inmate being arrested for different matters and having other traits and purposes that got them arrested it indeed does matter if discussing the inmates on the topic of who they are truly as a person without society possibly being the reason they made had to break the law. I think people end up incarcerated when the act of doing something illegal has a better outcome than doing something legal in the eyes of the potential inmate.  For the new round of topics and presentations, I was a part of the first group and the subject of social media and entertainment. Talking about this topic comes very quickly as I grew up with the internet and the new wave of technology that I don't know a life without, along with my other gen z peers. Videos for week seven - Race and Identity

 Before watching the videos and having changed my original opinion, I have always been curious about race. Curious about what exactly race is, who came up with it, and why does it matter? When looking at a definitive definition of race it states that it is "one of the groups that humans are often divided into based on physical traits" which strengthens my theory of people simply and naturally being not only confused but scared of the unknown. I came to this theory due to the keywords in the definition "groups" and "divided" as throughout history people treat another based on how not only one looks, but status, importance, and simply how much the other person can benefit them. I personally can not come up with my own definition of race, but I can and do agree with the definition I found on the internet as ethnicity is a more distinct characteristic in comparison.
