Videos for week two - curiosity
In the assigned video of "Why Isn't Learning Enjoyable Anymore - How to revive your curiosity?" by R.C Waldun he discusses learning, schools, and the path of careers and how they've changed throughout the years. Education has grown into a world of reaching certain academic levels and validation instead of what it used to be under the lines of brave and curious individuals. Something in the video that really clicked with me is the saying of needing to "navigate through the obstacles that we have" in order to "regain the curiosity-and passion for learning" under the pretense he is saying that the typical format of school isn't something to ignore entirely, but instead use it to realize what else is missing. I strongly consider myself a curious person as I always have questions under the terms of why and how and would have an itch to not leave those questions unanswered. Even now I'm strongly curious as college every day fills a curiosity I didn't even know I had as I leave lectures feeling fulfilled with the information I can share and apply to different areas of life. I think what makes someone curious and another not is the need to know in a sense. Some people are completely fine with being in the unknown as ignorance is indeed bliss, but for others, I need answers as it leads to different questions that lead to even more answers that lead to historical wonders and improvements. To cultivate more curiosity in my life I usually try to read more books that are out of my comfort zone as it brings information that I have no bias toward and no pressure to feel to get it right. I really enjoy being curious as I wouldn't b in my college career without it and am excited to see where else it takes me.
